A graduate of boarding school himself, Pete has spent his entire professional life living and teaching at boarding schools. He began his teaching career at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island, where he taught English, worked in admissions, served as the athletic director, and was the head coach for boys basketball and both boys and girls soccer.

At Cate, Pete has been the director of admission and financial aid, the director of residential life, an English teacher, and head boys' basketball coach. He is currently Cate's Assistant Head for Students, a teacher in the Human Development department, and the head boys' soccer coach."

As a college athlete, he played varsity soccer, varsity basketball, and rugby, earning Academic All-America recognition as goalkeeper and captain of the nationally ranked College of Wooster Fighting Scots, where he still holds the season (13) and career shutout records (31). He holds his National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier Diploma in coaching.

Pete's interests include lots of outdoor activities and sports, wood-working and carpentry, reading, spending time with his family, and becoming too emotionally involved in supporting his hometown Detroit sports teams.

After 18 years of dormitory living, he and his wife Renee now live in a house on the Mesa with their sons Theo and Emmett, their daughter Reagan, and their dog Zetterberg.
