Senior Class Endowment Funds
Since 1987, parents of seniors have been invited to support their child’s Senior Class Endowment Fund, which supports the long-term health of the School in perpetuity. Gifts to these funds are often paid over time, generally within five years. Unless parents have a younger child at the School as well, they will not be asked to give to the annual fund.
The total market value of all Senior Class Endowment Funds is $11,359,581 (as of June 30, 2016), which represents approximately 12% of Cate’s endowment. The impact of the funds is significant.
Last year, the 2016 Senior Class Endowment Fund – supporting Cate faculty salaries forever – was established with more than $800,000 in gifts and pledges.
This year, it is our goal to establish the 2017 Senior Class Endowment Fund with at least $700,000. This year is special because the Fund will be the catalyst for a $250,000 grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation in support of Cate faculty and the Culture of Inquiry program.
